Electric scooters are not easily available today and are often expensive. Available electric scooter has often small wheels and low power. So I decided build my own. The key was to build it as simple as possible.
I bought simple scooter with 16/12" wheels. After few measurements, it was time to some dirty work.
The drive train is consists of Goldenmotor 1kW electric HUB motor and Brushless motor controller. I designed battery disconnect circuit and precharger.
There was a battery status board in twist throttle control, but it has only 3 state. I wanted something more precise. I make a board with 3 LEDs and MCU. Data is sent via UART and battery state is displayed in 6 states (3 permanent; red and orange permanent, green flashing; only red and orange permanent; etc.). Capacity of the battery is measured by the main board (I don`t have photo. I will add it later.). Of course, scooter has front and rear light.

Scooter is powered with two 6s Li-Po batteries connected is series. The maximum speed is 30km/h and maximum range is about 22km. It`s enough for a beer trip from my village to the city. 😊
